DRC / Covid-19: “Because the population does not want to respect barrier gestures, the only way left is the vaccine”

During a conference held this Friday February 05, 2021, the Minister of Health suggested that the Congolese government is looking for ways and means to adopt an anti-covid vaccine in the face of lax barrier gestures, observed in the head of the Congolese .

According to Dr. Eteni Longondo, vaccination is the only panacea against this pandemic.

” We must respect the measures taken by the authorities. Because the population does not want to respect barrier gestures, the only way left is the vaccine. We, as a government, are studying all these vaccines. because we do not want to bring home the vaccines that pose a problem. I believe that we have an idea about the vaccine that can help us here in the DRC, “he said.

To this end, he called on the Congolese to prepare to receive the vaccine at the appropriate time.

” At the given moment, the population must be prepared to receive the vaccine. The population should be able to understand that the vaccine at some point we will use it here to prevent contamination and the case of death from this disease. ” , said the Minister of Health.

It should be noted that the DRC, which is facing the second wave of Covid-19, is one of the nations that will have to benefit from the doses of vaccines approved as a matter of urgency by the World Health Organization (WHO), announced on Friday the Global Vaccine Alliance (GAVI).
